Canadian Tire - The Shopping Experience

Canadian Tire has opened two (2) new "Smart" stores in Welland and Orleans Ontario. These stores come with improved customer service areas, including help buttons that customers can push for assistance and areas throughout the store where customers can look up products on their own, and get a consumer rating and wider aisles with more displays. They are environmentally friendly and state-of-the-art, with the biggest change is a section of the store that is now dedicated to food sales.

Other stores are scheduled to be converted in the spring. Canadian Tire retail president Mike Arnett, associate dealer Owen Billes and Glenn Butt, senior vice-president of store support and design, showed off the next generation in the Canadian Tire legacy Monday as shoppers passed through with carts containing frozen dinners, bread, milk, packaged soup and a full range of convenience food now being offered at the Smart Store.

Canadian Tire cash balancer Joanne Jacques, store owner/operator Larry Garon, Ward 2 Coun. Yvon Doucet, Mayor Vance Badawey, store manager Chris Duerden and computer operator Kelly Raso were on hand to celebrate the store's grand re-opening on Thursday morning.

"It's exciting," Billes said. "It's exceeded all expectations.
